our story
The Islamic Society at the University of South Australia (ISUniSA) is a dynamic not-for-profit initiative under the University of South Australia Student Association (USASA) and is proudly registered as a charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).
Since our founding in 1991—coinciding with the establishment of UniSA—we have transformed from a small group into a thriving community that embodies strong moral and spiritual Islamic values.
ISUniSA expertly addresses the diverse needs of Muslim students and staff across campuses. As a prominent religious society, we have been entrusted by the university with outstanding facilities, including dedicated prayer rooms, to support our daily worship. These spaces have empowered numerous Muslim students and staff to engage with their faith actively. Each campus features a male and female prayer room for our convenience. Check the Jum’uah link on our website to find your nearest prayer room. We encourage you to utilise these facilities, as your participation is just as crucial to our community as the resources provided.
ISUniSA is dedicated to organising impactful events and activities tailored for Muslims and non-Muslims who wish to embrace Islamic values and culture. Our mission is to connect Australian and international Muslim staff and students with the community and society in an environment that fully respects and supports their beliefs.
In addition, ISUniSA is committed to fostering interfaith understanding among individuals of various faiths and belief systems within an academic context. We invite you to explore the various links on our website as your first step in engaging with our vibrant community.
